May Monster Madness Year 3
Or at least, it's year 3 for me. It's too midnight for me to fact-check.
May Monster Madness is an annual blogging event hosted by Annie Walls, Little Gothic Horrors, and Something Wicked This Way Comes*. The object is to write a post on something pertaining to horror and or monsters, in any way you like. It could be about a film, or crocheting, or it could be about that corpse of Loch Ness you have chained in your basement...
Instead of being over the course of a week, May Monster Madness will only be on the 30th of May this year. The last two years, I've written many reviews for MMM, and since this only comes once a year, I'd like to do something special for the one day I have, so I will be writing a gargantuan post, reviewing thirteen movies, all starting with the letter M (with the occasional 'The'-They count, right?). I'll be reviewing:
The Manster,
The Murder Mansion,
Metamorphosis,
Medusa,
Mindkiller,
Man in the Attic,
My Mom's a Werewolf,
The Monster That Challenged the World,
Monstroid,
The Mighty Peking Man,
Mortuary,
The Mutilator, and
Manos "The Hands of Fate"
Hope to see you there!

Haha. It's 3 years for all of us, Chris! No need for further fact-checking.
ReplyDeleteI hope someone really does post about "that corpse of Lock Ness you have chained in your basement... " ;) Looking forward to your gargantuan monster post and thanks for spreading the word!
Glad to do my part, Emma!
ReplyDeleteWowsers, this will be awesome! Very excited for your post.
ReplyDeleteThe Manster - so effin' silly.
The Murder Mansion - creepy as fuck!
Metamorphosis - the Italian one, or the semi-sequel to "Deadly Spawn"?
Medusa - just horrible.
Mindkiller - stupid as fuck.
Man in the Attic - decent.
My Mom's a Werewolf - dumb.
The Monster That Challenged the World - very solid.
Monstroid - ridiculous.
The Mighty Peking Man - absolutely badass! Did that one for last year's madness.
Mortuary - quite decent.
The Mutilator - hilarious!
Manos "The Hands of Fate" - a guilty pleasure of mine!
I got the inspiration by selecting a bunch of Public Domain films to review. And how did I find out what PD M movies there were? By reading your blog, coincidentally enough!
ReplyDeleteThe Italian one, I think.
I'm now looking so forward to The Mighty Peking Man that I might swap it and The Manster around and watch it first!
Woohoo, I feel honored ^_^
ReplyDeleteYou wanna check out the American one too? It's silly as hell, but in a fun way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kD9hrQlPxAE
Mighty Peking Man just kicks ass. IMO a much better film than Jackson's underwhelming King Kong flick.
I'll make sure to sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteUnderwhelming for sure! As I like to say, there did not need to be an adaptation of King Kong as long as 1900! If only Jackson stuck to his original semi-comedic adventure script. That would have at least been original.
